I headed out with Outcast regulars Rick & Dawn in search of spring Lake Trout. Over-night winds pushed some cold water into the fishing grounds which seemed to concentrate the fish into dense pockets. We found a steady bite which consisted of BIG Lake Trout. We finished the day 30 for 38 on Lake Trout with a bonus Walleye. The fish averaged in the 12# range with multiple fish in the 14 – 17# range. The biggest of the day was an 18#er and 18.5#er. The crew returned to the dock with sore arms.

Fishing Report – 5/2/15: For the first lake Trout trip of the year, I headed east with Wes and Cohrin. We set up to find several hungry Lake Trout. With a steady bite we managed to end the day going 34 for 38 on Lake Trout with a bonus being a 9# Walleye, which was our first Walleye of the 2015 Season, great job on winching it in Cohrin. It was an action packed day with numerous doubles and even a triple. The lake trout averaged in the 8 – 10 # range with the biggest being 14.5#’s (once again great job on the reel Cohrin).
Fished Presque Isle Bay with Pete and Dustin while the ice on the main lake continues to melt. Fishing conditions remained tough and cold. We managed to end the day 4/4, which include a mixed bag of 1 – 6# Brown Trout, 1 – 5# Steelhead and two small Steelies.
Ron & I headed out onto the lake to do some pre-fishing for a Saturday trip. Under tough conditions and thick fog we managed to go 3 for 3 which included a massive 11# Brown Trout, 10# Brown Trout and a small Steelhead. All three went back in for another day.
